So, we had to replace the dryer. It arrived today without a power cord.

Wut?

Apparently the power cord is extra.

Wut?

For your edification, it was an Amana 6.5 cu ft electric dryer.

I mean, seriously, what the hell?

Possibly the dumbest, most pointless and infuriating consumer upsell abuse ever. I mean, Oh sure, I would like to spend several HUNDRED dollars on a new electric dryer without a cord. Cause everyone has extra 220v 3-prong monstrosities laying around the house like they have extension cords, power strips and surge protectors.

It's not even that the cord itself was that expensive, but seriously, in what world does any electric appliance not come with a cord?

It is. Like I get the replacemnt part in case an army of rats eats through your 2 inch thick dryer cord in an act of revenge and you need to replace it...but, gah.

They should have mentioned that when you bought it. Idiot sales people. And not that it helps, but the reason is that not all houses have the same plug for the dryer to plug into, so they're supposed to make sure you get the correct cord for your house's electrical situation.

They should and honestly, for the price of them, they should just include a 3 and 4 prong 220v cord, I mean, it's not like it would actually tip the price up much. And I get that yes, there are times when you might need to just replace the cord, not the appliance, and were the cord from the old dryer not so effing old, I'd have kept it.

It was just like almost an entire day of extra hassle I did not need.
